Why We Exist
The arts have the power to inspire, uplift, and transform lives—but for many young people, the opportunity to participate is out of reach.
At Olympus Arts Fund, we believe that every child deserves the chance to explore their creativity, express themselves, and be part of a community that values their unique voice. Yet, for countless children and teens, financial barriers and limited access keep these experiences out of reach.
Barriers to Participation
High Costs: Art supplies, costumes, classes, and participation fees can add up quickly, placing a heavy financial burden on families. For many, these expenses make arts programs unaffordable and out of reach.
Limited Access in Schools and Communities: Budget cuts and limited resources mean that many schools can no longer afford comprehensive arts programs. This leaves young people who can’t afford private classes without access to these crucial outlets.
A “Pay-to-Play” Reality: From dance studios to theater workshops, many programs require participants to “pay to play.” While this covers expenses, it often excludes talented youth who simply can’t afford the fees. This means that the stage, the studio, and the canvas become exclusive to those who can pay, rather than places for all to explore and grow.
Why Access Matters
Participation in the arts isn’t just about learning skills—it’s about building confidence, discovering passions, and finding a place to belong. For young people, these opportunities are essential:
Confidence and Self-Expression: The arts allow children to express themselves in ways that other outlets may not. This expression fosters self-confidence and resilience.
A Sense of Belonging: The arts provide a community where young people can find friends, mentors, and a support system that encourages and accepts them for who they are.
Developing Skills for Life: Creative programs teach skills like collaboration, perseverance, and discipline. These skills extend far beyond the stage or studio and positively impact academic, social, and professional pursuits.
How Olympus Arts Fund is Making a Difference
Our mission is to break down these barriers and make the arts accessible to every child, regardless of financial circumstance. Here’s how we’re doing it:
Scholarships and Subsidized Programs: We provide financial support for children and young adults to participate in classes, workshops, and productions.
Community Partnerships: We work with local schools, theaters, and arts programs to create opportunities for young people who might not otherwise have access.
Building Inclusive Spaces: By removing the financial hurdles, we ensure that all youth—no matter their background—can feel welcomed and valued in the arts.
Your Role in This Mission
Together, we can bridge the gap and ensure that every child, regardless of background, has a place in the arts.
Your support is crucial to helping us make these opportunities available to young people. Every contribution goes toward giving a child the chance to step onto a stage, pick up a paintbrush, or dance without limits. Together, we’re transforming lives, one artistic experience at a time.
